The charismatic Fernando Tererê is known for the volume of his game and his sneaky takedowns. He has become a reference in the standup game, given his success with takedowns on the most prestigious stages of BJJ. One of his favorite techniques is the naughty takedown, which he adapted from judo.
The original is called the kouchi makikomi. "But I changed the grip on the arm," he says. "Instead of holding under the armpit to place the foot and push, I use my forearm to throw my opponent's hip against my leg and keep him far."
